| TAKE A HIKE...AT THE SONORAN DESERT |
| Experience and learn about our beautiful McDowell Sonoran Preserve by participating in the "Preserve Connections" tours, a free program sponsored by the city and the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy for residents who may not have direct access to visit the Preserve. Participants are transported by bus from the Granite Reef Senior Cener to one of the preserve access areas, where conservancy stewards lead hikes the highlight Sonoran Desert flora and fauna. ELGIN WILL HOLD THEIR 100TH CELEBRATION JUNE 17TH-20TH 2010. REGISTRATION WILL START THURSDAY, FRIDAY & SATURDAY. BE SURE COME EARLY AND GET ALL YOUR PAPERS IN ORDER. THURSDAY WILL HOLD A HISTORIC TOUR AND INFORMATIONAL SLIDE SHOW WHICH WILL THEN MOVE TO THE "RIVINIUS CABINS" FOR A BON FIRE. FRIDAY WILL HOLD AN ANTIQUE TRACTOR/CAR SHOW WITH A PARADE TO FOLLOW. IN THE EVENING THE ALUMNI FOOTBALL GAME WILL BE HELD WITH TWO DANCES TO FOLLOW- ONE IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER & ONE UNDER THE TENT ON MAIN, WITH "SILVERADO" SATURDAY WILL HOLD A DAY FULL OF GAMES, PARADES,ENTERTAINMENT UNDER THE TENT IN THE AFTERNOON. ITEMS TO PURCHASE AND SURPRIZES FOR ALL WITH DANCES IN THE EVENING. DANCE TO "JOHNNY HOLMES" UNDER THE TENT.
TENTIVELY A DEMOLITION DERBY IS PLANNED FOR SUNDAY.
